The United States-based company Tampa Energy plans to invest US$50 million to install a sugar cane ethanol plant in the Dominican Republic, that would be operational as of next year.
The fuel derived from sugar cane would be exported to the United States to be mixed with gasoline, according to company executive Arturo McDonnell quoted by the “Dow Jones Newswire,” published on Cattlenetwork.com.
