US supports China’s ambitious nuclear energy program – western diplomat

The US is committed to helping China’s clean development, and support for the sale of nuclear power plant equipment goes to the highest levels, a western diplomat told Interfax.

“The US wants to be a part of such a rapidly growing nuclear power plant program,” said the diplomat.

The Commerce Department has been actively involved in trying to get Westinghouse’s nuclear bid accepted by the Chinese government.
