A report released Monday by two Washington-based policy groups urges U.S. policymakers to take steps to break the country’s dependence on oil and ensure that more than just 6% of the nation’s energy is produced from renewable sources like wind.
In “American Energy: The Renewable Path to Energy Security,” the Worldwatch Institute and the Center for American Progress argue that renewable energy and energy efficiency programs can “gradually transform the U.S. energy system in ways that will benefit all Americans.”
