(Reuters) – U.S. pipeline regulators have expressed concern over BP’s plan to keep part of its Prudhoe Bay oil field in Alaska flowing, a source with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday.
Officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation said in a conference call with other regulators and the White House on Tuesday that they had already been planning to shut down the field, the largest in the United States, after tests revealed severe pipeline corrosion, a congressional aide who participated in the call said Wednesday.
