UK Coal receives anonymous bid

Shares in UK Coal have rallied over 8.5% after the loss-making mining group confirmed it has received a bid approach from a mystery suitor.
The UK’s biggest coal producer said it was awaiting details from the unnamed party and stressed that the approach was “highly preliminary and tentative”.
