Truck-stop operators feel the diesel pinch

Syed Qureshi said the Phillips 66 Key Truck Stop just off Interstate 10 east of Houston would not be in business if it did not have a restaurant.

The stop off Exit 785 in Channelview has seen a 20 percent profit decline in the last six months because of skyrocketing diesel prices, said Qureshi, the manager at the station where truckers make up 99 percent of the customers.
