Tropical Depression 2 forms in far eastern Atlantic

Tropical Depression Two formed Thursday over the far eastern Atlantic Ocean and could strengthen into a tropical storm later today, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in an advisory.

The NHC will name the next Atlantic tropical storm Bertha.

The center of the depression was located about 250 miles south-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands.
