Too-hot gospeller

The tatty myth of the vanishing polar bears is trotted out again in a global-warming debate that is heating up.

AUSTRALIA – You are about to read some lies. They must be lies, because the Howard Government’s Environment Minister, Ian Campbell, insists the debate about global warming is over.

“I don’t think there is much doubt, frankly, about the science of global warming,” this too-hot gospeller exhaled last year.

Our gases were definitely heating the world to hell. Case closed. And since then Campbell has toted his sandwich board — repent! — around Australia in a bizarre bid to out-green the Greens.

This week he was at it again, releasing a report his department commissioned that claimed we are warming the world even more than we feared. Already the polar bears were suffering.
