Thomson inventor branches into tree energy system

A nail. A tree. A copper pipe. A Thomson inventor is pounding the items into a system and promoting it as a way to capture free, unlimited green energy. Gordon W. Wadle, a Carroll County resident, and MagCap Engineering of Canton, Mass., applied in December for a patent for an electric power generating system.

“You’ll get a reading of anywhere from 0.8 to 1.2 volts of DC power,” he said.
