The Oil Drum: The American Political System and Peak Oil: Institutions

I thought I would bring some pieces of the political puzzle together into a post on why I believe the US will be overly slow to react to the problems of peak oil in both the short and long term. This is the first piece in a series of a few, the first has to do with the institutions of American government and a discussion of why things work they way they do in America: it’s all about the rules of the game.
