The average price of unleaded gasoline in the United States is expected to peak at $2.35 per gallon in May, as rising crude oil prices push up the cost at the pump. Although oil companies showed record profits in 2004, heating oil prices hit a record of $2.06 per gallon, adding to the already obscene amount that we spend on energy.
