In Focus magazine, World Energy Council Secretary General Christoph Frei describes the backdrop in which the energy sector is preparing for the new energy realities, for the Grand Transition. According to Frei, the “Discussion of peak oil has moved to a discussion of peak demand” (also see the latest World Energy Scenarios report launched at the 2016 Congress). The fear of stranded private sector assets is shifting to a fear of stranded country-owned fossil resources”.
Discussions around innovative business models, the energy world in the future and innovation where central to the past 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul. More information about discussions at the Congress and its highlights are available here, including the programme (677.04 kB).

“The discussion of peak oil has moved to a discussion of peak demand”. Only for those novices that don’t understand that that “demand” is a function of pricing and not directly by supply. Global oil “demand” has climbed to a record high level because of the decrease in price. And not because there has been a sudden surge in the health of the global economy.

Or you could say the oil community is lousy at controlling overproduction creating a 3 Mbpd glut and then produced even more after prices collapsed. Dumb shuts come to mind. Lol I do enjoy the now $1.85 gas on my last fill up. Keep up the mismanagement please.

Exposed: Child labour behind smart phone and electric car batteries
“Major electronics brands, including Apple, Samsung and Sony, are failing to do basic checks to ensure that cobalt mined by child labourers has not been used in their products, said Amnesty International and Afrewatch in a report published today.”
“….traces the sale of cobalt, used in lithium-ion batteries, from mines where children as young as seven and adults work in perilous conditions.”

Given your track record of unending mindless stupidity Boat, it isn’t the least bit surprising that you can’t remember what the price of oil was for the first 5 decades of your life. When there was no ‘Oil Glut™’.
