President Jakaya Kikwete has said his government has embarked on short, medium and long-term measures to solve the power problem once and for all.
Kikwete has as good as set a two-year minimum within which to have the situation under control.
The president said last week in Dar es Salaam that his government was exploring all possibilities of exploiting available potential sources of electricity generation – including natural gas, coal at Kiwira Coal Mines and Mchuchuma Coal deposits in southern Tanzania highlands.
