Switched On to Keeping SA in Power This Winter?

There is a strong possibility that the entire southern African region will soon plunge into darkness.

“It is important to raise the public’s awareness that the more energy we use, the more power needs to be generated,” says South Africa’s power utility Eskom demand-side management manager Tsholo Matlala.

“The result is that more power stations need to be built, which will inevitably result in the consumer having to bear the cost through higher tariffs.”
