Survey maps oil on Arctic shelf

The USGS plans to release a report on possible oil and gas resources to the north of the Arctic Circle by the end of July, said Donald Gautier, a research geologist at the agency.

The study will map some potential “provinces” offshore Russia, Greenland, the United States and Canada, he said.
