(LWN) Cuban official media reported on Saturday that President Fidel Castro made a speech about the successes being achieved by Cuba’s new energy-saving program.
President Castro indicated that the equivalent of sixty million dollars had been saved by substantially reducing electricity and oil consumption. He stated that new Chinese trucks being imported to the island use only one liter per fourteen kilometers (approximately 32 MPG).
