The Department of Energy has delayed until the beginning of February the release of a study examining how China’s growing demand for energy will affect US “political, strategic, economic and national security”.
“China’s economic growth is driving its thirst for energy. In response, China is acting as if it can somehow ‘lock up’ energy supplies around the world. This is not a sensible path to securing energy security,” Mr Zoellick said.
