Korean households will be turning off their computers when they are not in use and turning down their thermostats if they heed a governmental request. Businesses will also be looking for ways to cut back the energy they use.
The Commerce, Industry and Energy Ministry said Thursday it will make more efforts to encourage companies and households to reduce energy consumption amid concerns that oil prices will continue to climb. The climb is feared to dampen an economic recovery in Asia’s fourth-largest economy, market experts said.
