Seoul mulls raising strategic oil reserves

The government yesterday said it will consider implementing emergency energy supply measures this year to minimize the economic burden of high-flying oil prices.

The measures include increasing the capacity of the country’s emergency oil reserves to 123.5 million barrels from 116 million barrels by the year’s end, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Chung Sye-kyun said.
