Scientists Work To Hike Ethanol Production

Iowa State University scientists say they are working to create chemical catalysts that would increase the yield of fermentable sugars from corn. Brent Shanks, an Iowa State associate professor of chemical and biological engineering, says such chemical catalysts might boost ethanol production by as much as 15 percent.
