RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, March 13 (UPI) — Saudi Aramco announced it has discovered a new natural gas field in the Eastern Province that could produce 50 million cubic feet per day.
The discovery is located in the Midrikah-3 well, 17 miles south of the Ghawar Field and 150 miles southeast of Riyadh, according to a report in Pipeline Magazine.
The well’s flow, measured in a test depth of 15,000 feet in the ‘Unayzah reservoir, was 27 million cubic feet of gas per day, the magazine said.
“The wellhead pressure was 5,414 pounds per square inch on a half-inch choke,” it added.
