Energy will dominate talks between the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan after Vladimir Putin flies into the Central Asian republic Tuesday for the president’s inauguration, a Kremlin source said.
According to the source, Putin will hold detailed discussions during his two-day working visit with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev, who was reelected to his post for another seven years in December. The two presidents, both of whom preside over oil rich states, will focus on interaction, particularly how to increase supplies of Kazakh oil via Russia, and civilian nuclear power.
