Russia to witness rapid growth of nuclear power engineering

Russia will witness a rapid development of nuclear power engineering in the coming decade, Sergei Kiriyenko, head of the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy (Rosatom), said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

Kiriyenko said that Rosatom had drafted a federal programme, which provides for the putting in operation by 2030 of some 40 new power units at nuclear power plants (NPPs).
