Russia Energy Min Sees No Big Oil Output Growth In 2007

Russia’s Energy Minister Victor Khristenko said Monday that there will be little growth in the country’s oil production next year, though oil company tax breaks effective Jan. 1 will spur it toward growth of around 7% in the next few years.

In a speech at the 10th International Energy Forum here, Khristenko said he expected the country’s oil output to climb to around 10.4 million barrels a day in the medium term, from his estimate of this year’s production of 9.74 million b/d.
