Russia’s nuclear power corporation Rosatom can enrich 40 per cent of uranium used by the world’s nuclear power plants, said the press secretary of the state-owned corporation, Sergey Novikov.
“Russia accounts for 17 per cent of the nuclear fuel output on the world market. This means that every fifth reactor operates on Russia-made fuel,” he said in an interview with the Voice of Russia radio station.
He stressed that Russia was simultaneously building 12 nuclear powers facilities, seven inside the country and five abroad.
“We rank the world’s number one in the construction of nuclear power plants,” Novikov said.
