OAO Rosneft, Russia’s state oil company, became the country’s biggest refiner after winning a bankruptcy auction for OAO Yukos Oil Co.’s last major assets.
Rosneft, already Russia’s biggest oil producer as a result of winning previous Yukos auctions, bid 165.5 billion rubles ($6.42 billion) for three refineries, production unit OAO Samaraneftegaz and other assets auctioned in Moscow today. The starting price was 154.1 billion rubles.
