Retired Oil Executive Forecasts Dark Future

A self-described “old oil man” offered Colorado State University-Pueblo students some straight talk on the global gasoline industry Thursday night.

Dick Stegemeier, 78, a retired chief executive of Unocal, said people searching today’s newspaper headlines for solutions to the world’s growing dependence on oil for gasoline – and, for that matter, natural gas – aren’t going to find them.
