Duke Energy Corp. (DUK) Chief Executive Paul Anderson said Wednesday that the U.S. government’s ultimate response to global warming, as well as to growing world oil demand, will have a major impact on energy companies. Anderson, speaking at RBC Capital Markets’ energy infrastructure conference in Toronto, said he expects the government eventually to address global warming.
If the response is a tax or “penalty” on the use of hydrocarbon-based fuel, ” you’re going to advantage nuclear and advantage non-hydrocarbon based alternatives,” he said.
