Racing the Oil Endgame

The Saudis may only be seeking even further contol over world energy prices — that’s the good news.

The bad news is that oil production may be spiraling down faster than anyone anticipated. Just a few days ago, cookiebear’s diary on T. Boone Pickens showed that the Oklahoma oil man also believes that world oil is at, if not past, its peak.

For years, those pressing the “peak oil” line have been derided as Chicken Littles, ducking as the sky stays stubbornly in place. But the evidence suggests otherwise. We haven’t been scared enough. We haven’t yelled loudly enough. Most of all, we haven’t moved fast enough.
