Qatar eyes American natural gas market

Oil and natural gas exporter Qatar is anxious for the United States to open more East Coast liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal capacity, the US ambassador to the Persian Gulf nation said yesterday. Chase Untermeyer, the Houstonian who took the post a year ago, told a Houston World Affairs Council luncheon audience that Qatar was an eager partner to the United States strategically, educationally and economically.
