Price of Gasoline Here Vaults to Record $3.19 (Madison, WI)

The Capital Times (Madison, WI) – Madison’s Morey Burnard admits the 15-cent jump in gasoline pump prices to a record $3.19 a gallon here caught him by surprise.

“How come it always happens when I need gas?” Burnard said this morning after putting $25 worth of fuel – about 7 gallons – in his older model pickup truck at the BP/Amoco on Fish Hatchery Road.

“When it hits $4, that’s when we storm the White House,” said Burnard, 24, expressing the frustration almost every American feels over an issue that has no easy answer.
