Premier wants national debate over nukes (Australia)

THE nation’s longest-serving premier has pressed for a national debate on nuclear energy as an alternative to fossil fuels, to combat the catastrophic effects of global warming.

NSW Premier Bob Carr said nuclear energy could be no more dangerous than burning coal to produce electricity.
