Potential Solutions to Peak Oil Crisis

From the information above it is clear that although peak oil certainly presents a very real threat to our way of life and economy the worst case scenario is not inevitable. The alternatives exist and have wide ranging potential. Most of the drawbacks associated with some forms of energy generation can be countered by better planning an improvements in technology. It is obvious that different parts of the world will require an emphasis on differing technologies due to their respective climates and geographic locations It is the responsibility of the scientific community to research ways in which renewable energy generation can be researched and expanded, the duty of governments, businesses and NGO s to invest in such technology and for individuals to use alternative energy sources wherever possible. If action is taken immediately the transition from a carbon based economy to a post carbon one need not be as destructive or chaotic as some would predict.
