Who on Earth chooses the stuff that gets onto Peak Oil site? I mean honestly!

I mean, all a cornucopian has to do to show that peak oil is all a bunch of tinfoil hat lunacy is to point them to stuff like this and say that Peakoil.com’s website carries it.
This is a sci-fi movie – it has as much right to be here as Mad Max. We’re supposed to be a serious community, not a fricken sci-fi convention.

Beery, what did you find to be ridiculous? I thought it was an interesting take on the possibilities of the next decade or so. How do you think it will be when oil is not available in any quantity? Don’t you think that your life is going to be radically different and in a negative way?

How? Why? What the!?
Did they really need both an actor and stunt man to play the cop? Why the love story subplot(or was that the main plot?).
Have to give it points tho for the yellow “interceptor” insured by Shanons and Sheep-cam.
Interesting more for it’s existance than it’s content… that’s why PO.com put included it here, right?

“Beery, what did you find to be ridiculous?”
The brightly coloured cars, the Nerf guns, the bad acting, the plot, the sheep. Name it.
“I thought it was an interesting take on the possibilities of the next decade or so.”
I did not. It’s been done. It’s Mad Max, for Pete’s sake. It was interesting in the 1980s. 30 years on, it’s tedious.
“How do you think it will be when oil is not available in any quantity?”
I think it will be a lot more complex than this movie portrays.
“Don’t you think that your life is going to be radically different and in a negative way?”
When oil is not available in any quantity, I’ll be long dead. It took 150 years to reach the peak and it’s going to take at least a few decades to become ‘unavailable in any quantity’. In another 50 years, chances are I’ll be dead. Before then, the reduction in supply may inconvenience a lot of people, but not ‘radically’. There will be shortages and people will stop using cars as much, but chaos on the streets? Not so much. That is a primitivist fantasy – it’s just not going to happen – at least not in my lifetime or yours.
