While some American politicians have paid lip-service to preparation for the future from time to time, most continue to concentrate on short-term self-interested aims despite major fiscal and energy concerns affecting the nation.
Rather than enforcing serious measures to conserve energy, politicians and much of the media are busily promoting ethanol fuel, as if it were the solution to all energy-related problems.
