Poland Says Russia Canceled Gas Negotiations, Prawna Reports

Russia canceled talks planned for this month with the Polish government about a new agreement on natural-gas supplies, threatening the EU member with a shortage as temperatures fall, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna said.

“There’s no point in hiding the fact that we have a gas deficit,” the newspaper cited Deputy Treasury Minister Mikolaj Budzanowski as saying.
The extent of the problem depends on the severity of the winter and supplies may run short before the end of this year, he said.
