PEAK OIL !!! – George Carlin (R.I.P.)

The collapse of society never happened over night. Its the process like any other. Also crisis are not the big mistery. These are simple economic facts. The biggest problem this time is that we as the civilization climbed to high and we will fall down dramaticlly. This is only because of the myth of infinite growth and false belief that technology and science will solve everything. In fact thats the reason we made mistake in a first place. The more the society is complex, the more fragile it is.
People wanted heaven on Earth but without God. They become their own gods. Technology, science, economic growth, oil, these are the real gods for society we are living in. This is gonna end real soon folks.

    Dear Sir,

I don’t believe in world’s peak oil before at least 100 years taking into account: the current proved reserves, the remaing to be discoverd, the possibilities of factor recovery improvement, the enormous resources of nonconventionnal oil & gaz, etc.
    What is your opinion?
    Thanks a lot my friend.

As a geology technician who works with many petroleum geologist. I get the information from what I read in data sheets, and from talking to my coworkers, the World has been surveyed and re-surveyed many times over, and all of the Worlds “proven reserves” have been found. There have been no giant oil fields like those in Saudi Arabia found since the early 1960s. The U.S. has no reserves, and has since 1970 been in decline. Nowadays, some of the minor oil companies are going back to old stripper wells to glean what oil is left in them, and most of them are not profitable. Most of the new small discoveries are yielding oil that is sour and full of sulphur. This oil must be processed to remove the sulphur and other impurities to make it useful. This adds to the cost of oil products. As for the Tar Sands in Canada, that is exactly what it is, Tar, and it is even more costly to process to get useful products out of. Gasoline should be higher priced than conventional oil because of all the processing it has to go through. Plus, it is so damaging to the environment. I hear it takes about 21/2 barrels of oil to make one barrel of useful oil out of Tar Sands. So, don’t believe all the hype about oil being found for the next 100 years. It has been found and we are in decline.
