Bangalore – Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said here Sunday that India was facing a peak load shortage of 12 percent due to a mismatch in the supply-demand ratio.
“The national grid has an energy shortage of seven-eight percent in normal times that shoots up to 12 percent during the peak period, especially in the summer,” he told reporters on the sidelines of a function at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) here.
