Paintable Solar Cells

University of Toronto researchers have come up with a sprayable solar cell that can be applied like paint to any surface. Using nanotechnology (individual elements consist of a chain of eight carbon atoms), the researchers increased performance by harnessing infrared radiation, wavelengths unused by prior generations of solar cells. With further improvement, they believe the material can increase to 30% efficiency.
