Riyadh has already said it is willing to produce as much as its customers want, but has stressed it can do nothing to resolve the refinery bottlenecks that are pushing up petroleum product prices.
OPEC member Algeria said it could see no point in raising supply limits when producers already were at capacity.
“Why should we change our policy? OPEC is producing at full capacity. We cannot produce more,” said Algerian Oil Minister Chakib Khelil.
“Refineries are producing at full capacity. This will multiply the risk of accidents, which could obviously have an impact over prices,” Khelil said.
