OPEC May Output Rises Slightly To 30 Million B/D -DJ Survey

OPEC production rose slightly in May to 30 million barrels a day, led by new production from Iran and Kuwait compensating for a drop in Iraqi output, a Dow Jones Newswires survey found Wednesday.

Production for the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries inched up 50, 000 b/d from 29.95 million b/d in April, according to the survey of primary sources, traders and analysts.

For the 10 members bound by OPEC quotas, excluding Iraq, output rose 100,000 b/d.

Iraqi output slipped to 1.85 million b/d because of problems at the Rumeila oil field. Small amounts pumped through the northern pipeline to the Turkish port Ceyhan failed to make up the shortfall.
