As oil markets focus on the second quarter and how much global oil demand will fall, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries forecast Friday that demand for that period will remain unchanged at 83.57 million barrels a day.
For the whole of 2006, OPEC has revised down its estimate for world oil demand by 100,000 b/d to 84.83 million b/d. The group’s estimate for world oil demand growth has been tweaked up to 1.62 million b/d compared with 2005.
