Four years ago, ethanol was the dirty secret of Australia’s fuel industry. Now Australia is being asked to re-embrace the biofuel as a possible solution to petrol-pump price rage.
But despite the prodigal nature of this return to the energy fold, serious questions remain about the ability of ethanol and other biofuels to move beyond serving regional interests and step up into the A-league of national energy supply.
