OTEC – Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion appears to be a way to exploit solar energy without having to build very much in the way of power collection and storage equipment. 7×24 solar power without any dangerous lead-acid, or vanadium or bromide batteries. Large scale solar collection without any solar panels.
