Nuclear power ‘not needed’ for UK

The UK can meet its future energy needs and reduce climate polluting emissions, without resorting to nuclear power, according to a new report.

The document commissioned by conservation organisation WWF, “The Balance of Power” by independent consultants ILEX, shows that by increasing renewable energy and cutting energy waste the power sector could actually reduce emissions by 55% by 2025.
