Norway’s crude production will be cut almost 30% from Thursday for several days as two giant oil fields will be shut down for repairs, according to figures given by the platforms’ operators.
Both Norsk Hydro ASA’s (NHY) 130,000 barrel a day Troll C and ConocoPhillips’ (COP) 400,000 b/d Ekofisk will be shut down for around three to four days to replace gas flare drum units similar to the one that caused a massive blowout on Statoil ASA’s (STO) Visund platform in January.
