Feb. 7 (Bloomberg) — Norway pumped about 2.419 million barrels of crude oil a day in January, falling 1.2 percent from the month before, according to preliminary figures from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
Oil output was 2.448 million barrels a day in December, the directorate, which oversees the nation’s oil industry, said on its Web site today. Norway is the world’s third-largest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia and Russia.
The nation pumped about 364,000 million barrels a day of condensate and natural gas liquids in January, the directorate estimated. That compares with 382,000 barrels a day the preceding month.
In 2006 as a whole, total production of oil and gas dropped 3.3 percent to 248.8 million standard cubic meters. Crude oil output dropped 7.8 percent, while natural-gas production rose 3.1 percent.
