Japan’s largest refiner, Nippon Oil, said it will reduce its imports from Iran by 15 pct in 2006, citing the increased risk of doing business with that country, according to a report in the Financial Times.
Nippon Oil chairman Fumiaki Watari was quoted as saying in Tokyo: ‘We have started reducing the percentage of Iranian crude and (are) shifting to other grades,’ he said in Tokyo. ‘Risks related to the country are getting higher.’
