ABUJA, Nigeria (UPI) — Nigerian energy ministers countered petroleum executives by acknowledging there was a national shortage in the supply of natural resources.
Odein Ajumogobia, the Nigerian minister of state for petroleum resources, said in a rare showing of culpability that there was a national shortage of petroleum products, the Nigerian Compass reports.
The minister said the scarcity of fuel supplies was because of a short fall in the amount of reserves in storage.
He said the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is looking to imports to meet 100 percent of the national demands, whereas previously the NNPC imported 47 percent.
