Nexen-Led Team Reports Large Oil Find in Gulf of Mexico

A consortium of oil companies Tuesday reported one of the larger discoveries in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, but it’s too soon to know whether it will be among the biggest ever found in the region.

The discovery, known as “Knotty Head”, is a bright spot for the hurricane-beleaguered Gulf of Mexico, raising hopes for future discoveries in neighboring deepwater plays.
